The global standard for English proficiency. Required for some European universities and essential for Germany, Netherlands, Ireland, and UK-style programs. Band 5.5–6.5 is the typical requirement.

Yes. The National Medical Commission (NMC, formerly MCI) recognizes Italian medical degrees as equivalent to MBBS. Graduates appear for the FMGE (Foreign Medical Graduate Examination) to practice in India — the same pathway as any foreign medical graduate.
IMAT is conducted every September. Registration typically opens in July. For the most current dates and India test centre information, contact us — we track these deadlines actively and will notify enrolled students well in advance.
For most English-taught programs at Italian public universities, no. Most universities accept proof of English-medium secondary education or conduct their own English assessment. IELTS becomes relevant if you're also considering Germany, Netherlands, or other European countries alongside Italy.
Yes. TOLC-I is taken fully online from home using a proctored system. You need a computer with a webcam, stable internet, and a quiet environment. It can be taken multiple times a year, so there's no pressure to nail it on the first attempt.
For most engineering bachelor's programs, you need TOLC-I (or TOLC-E for some engineering variants). For top private schools like Bocconi (management) or Politecnico di Milano (engineering), additional requirements like SAT or a university-specific test may apply. We match you to the right exam for your target programs.
